County approves $119K in small-business grants

The Greene County Commission yesterday approved more than $119,000 in grant funding for local small businesses.

The 20 applicants selected were chosen for funding through the county’s $34.4 million Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act funding allocation, according to a news release. A 30-member volunteer group recommends applications to the commission, with $24.6 million awarded to date.

The top recipient in the grant round was R. Wiemer's Inc., the operator of bowling alleys Enterprise Park Lanes and Sunshine Lanes. The company received $15,000 for interruptions to its business caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

All of the commission-approved organizations yesterday received funding for “business interruption,” according to the release. The recipients, by grant amount and alphabetical order, are:
• $15,000 for R. Wiemer's Inc.;
• $10,000 each for All About Kids Academy LLC and Basement Dweller Holdings LLC;
• $5,812 for Reno LLC;
• $5,000 each for All Occasion Video, Ambica Inc., Antojos Tacos Y Mas LLC, Conservatory of the Ozarks LLC, English Apparel & Promotional Materials LLC, Friga Construction Inc., Jack Ball & Associates Architects PC, La Hacienda Restaurant LLC, Mama Loca's Cafe, Steve E. Taylor LLC, The Acoustic Shoppe LLC, The Travel Group, Top Tier Homes LLC, Whalesong Games LLC and Xfit LLC; and
• $3,500 for Allure Salon.
