Joplin council to consider ballpark lease

Posted online

Joplin City Council on Monday is scheduled to consider a lease arrangement for Becker Stadium and other city baseball fields.

Parkwood Tournament Co. is proposing an agreement where it would pay $55,000 in the first year for the use of Becker, Wendell Redden Stadium, Gabby Street Field and Bassman Softball Complex.

Under the proposal, the city would maintain naming rights for the fields. The company would be able to sell advertising and keep concession stand revenue.
