ABLE TO INVEST
Missouri Treasurer Scott Fitzpatrick visits Springfield on Oct. 22 to announce the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce and The Arc of the Ozarks signed on to help his office raise awareness of the MO ABLE program. It allows people with disabilities to save and invest money without losing certain federal benefits. The program currently has 1,700 accounts and over $12 million in assets under management. ABLE stands for Achieving a Better Life Experience, the name of a federal act passed in 2014. Fitzpatrick is traveling the state to promote and expand access to the investment account program.
